My Baking Collection, Measuring Spoons and Cups

One of my new sets of spoons, these are actual Nordic Ware bundt pan spoons!  I know right, how cute!
So I like to collect things, and I usually go crazy with my collections.  Just ask Hubby, you should see all the scrap booking stuff I have.  That I have not really touched in a while.  It's okay I will one day. I mean just this week Pork Chop wanted to look at his baby book and read about how he was born.  Only because he was asking how babies were made and then he was all, "I want to look at my book and see me as a baby!" And I sort of want to share with you all how he thought babies were made, but then again he might read this one day, so no go. Anyway.

He was a really cute baby, even if he did give me the finger.  Don't believe me?  Well he did!

I know he is too cute for words, and how do you ground a baby for being rude? And how can I not share that picture over and over again right?

So anyway, my collections.  I have one for measuring spoons and cups.  I have more spoons than cups because spoons take up less room.  I have a shadow box with all the spoons in it. And Hubby was way against it, I seem to take up a lot of room with my stuff.  I mean come on, he has like 6 huge boxes of comics. They may be in the basement, but they are still there you know.  What is one little shadow box?  Nothing really.  And Hubby is so good he was all, "you need a bigger one now!"  And this is because mine is full. I think I would marry him if I hadn't already!  And then I think about the comic books and then I realize I might not.  Just saying.

These are the super cute spoons I got this Christmas. I bought two of them myself.  I have issues. My sister got me the cute silver ones.  And I got Hubby to hang them, and then I was all "that's not where I wanted them!" And he wanted to kill me, but I was just joking, I had to pick on him.  He knows if I use the power drill there are holes all over the wall, so he was lucky he did this fast.
So for the holidays I always give Hubby a list of what I want.  But this year I was all "I don't need anything!" Because I have the tendency to buy myself things when I see them.  There may be an issue with my control of spending.  Maybe.  But I bought two sets and only because they were on sale.  I love to go to the outlet stores, they are called Winners and Home Sense. They are both the same company.  And you can find some fun stuff!

Anyway, I was on pintrest looking for spoons, and saw the Swiss Army set. And I screamed a little bit.  Then I set to finding it.  I did and sent the link to Hubby and he was all "is this a hint?  And by the way for an unrelated issue, I may need to use the Pay Pal account for something" He is really good at being stealth about things.  I had no clue.
These ones look like mixing bowls, how cute are they?
This set it friggin huge!  I mean like I had no idea how big it was, and I love it!!!
Now my measuring cup set is not as big, because I don't have as much space to store them. If I had my way I would have a cute shelving unit for them, but as it is my house is filling up and so are my walls.  So I keep these in my china cabinet.  And I love them.  I have a few others, which I should take pictures of and share, I will one day.  Anyway I only got one set this holiday.  And I paid full price for them.  I know, I am nuts.  But they were so cute! I also ask my mom to get me spoons or cups when she is traveling, well I did once.  I have a nice hand made set from England.
See how pretty?  I got them at Pier one for under $20.
So these ones are adorable, they don't really stack well, but seriously I can use them as little mixing bowls and pour stuff out.  So they are practical if nothing else.  Oh and they are made of bamboo.  So they are panda food too.  Or something like that.
This one is the smallest, 1/4 cup I think.  Seriously how cute is that!!!
Anyway I have an addiction and I may or may not spend time googling things like "cute measuring spoons" or "fun measuring cups" or "why do I not have all the cute measuring spoons ever made!"  that last one doesn't really help much if you really must know.

And in case you are wondering, no I don't actually use them.  I have simple plain old measure spoons and cups that are sort of ugly.  But that is what collections are for right?  Just to look at.

Oh and if you know of any super cute spoons or cups that I need, my birthday is coming up and I bet Hubby needs some ideas! Your Homebased Mom Skip To My Lou

Can you believe it - we don't have those measuring cups in Germany, we weigh everything! So when I first came here I had a hard time getting used to having it that easy, now I can't imagine baking without it anymore ;)
Thank you for sharing this at Wednesday Extravaganza - hope to see you there again this week with more of your deliciousness :)
