Before we get started, I just want to remind you to check out my giveaway, it ends soon!
This is all you need to make something super cute and yummy! |
So last week while I was checking out my fellow bloggers I can across this on the caffeinated globe. It was right then and there that I became determined to make them. They were cute, they were made with store bought pie crust and they were cute. Did I say that twice? Well since I had to get some things for another baking project I grabbed some pie crust and thought about making these in a few weeks. That did not happen.
That very same night, after mixing 4 batches of cookie dough, I pulled out the pie crust, grabbed some mini Reece peanut butter cups and got to work.
All set up, so easy! |
I was really happy with how they turned out, sort of. Firstly, they tasted great, little pockets of yum, but mine opened up. I tried pressing the edges together, but I think I used a cookie cutter just a little too small. I am happy to say that nothing spilled out, which is good since I didn't put parchment on my cookie tray.
Mini chocolate candy pies
From the Caffeinated Globe
1 store bought crust
some sort of chocolate candy
egg white and water mixed to wash
heat oven to 350
I followed what the blog told me to do, because I follow directions. But it was just as easy to cut out circles all by themselves. |
So to start you need a pie crust and some sort of chocolate. I was going to do Rolo's but was worried they would be too gooey. Also you can use home made pie crust if you want, I was just wanting to make them fast and the store bought crust was perfect.
So I rolled out the pie crust and put the candies all around the edge as the caffeinated globe had done. In retrospect I could have just cut the circles out. And I did that with the second crust I used.
I just used the cutter I thought would work, should have gone bigger. |
So far they look okay, just make sure you pinch those edges together! |
A little packet of love, and chocolate. |
See how good they look before baking? |
And now they sort of look gross, but they taste great I promise! |
I was really happy that they stayed together and they were so good, the buttery crust and just a little chocolate and peanut butter. I brought them to work and let my friends have at them, because the three I ate were more than enough.
Bad picture #1. |
Bad picture #2, but with a cute cup of mini pies. |
Bad picture #3, sadly this is the best one. |
I look forward to trying this again with different candies. I really enjoy finding these fun ideas on the web, so many great things to try and make.

I think learning how to take pics of food is so difficult. The best tip someone gave me was to take pics of your food outside in the shade.
Thanks for joining the link party!
